Recently professional wrestler Bad News Allen died. I never knew him personally but I do have one memory of him. When I lived in Calgary in the 1980s. Often went to see Stanpede Wrestling(courtesy of free ticket thanks to the late Stu Hart). Word was we had to watch out for and stay out of the way of Bad News. Especially during his wrestling matches as he doesn’t care who you are. Fan or not he’ll make you regret it. So many(myself included)were fearful of him.
One evening a woman sitting in the front row was booing and taunting Bad News Allen. Having had enough of her he’s slowly approaching her. You could hear a pin drop. Everyone became queit wondering what’s he going to do? Hit her? Bodyslam her? Worse? He lifts one hand kind of slowly. Puts it on her head and ruffles her hair a little. Smiles. And walks away.
That was then and there we saw he’s not as “bad” as we all had thought. If he was Bad News Allen would’ve done physical harnm to that woman.
