In today’s Toronto Sun there’s a story by reporter Brian Gray. And in it according to I guess the Toronto Police it says that blacks and Jews experience more hate crimes than other groups.
Do they experience more hate crimes? Or are they(blacks and Jews) just more vocal than other cultures?
I wonder because I know of a white female cashier who had to call for a price check on an item. The customer–black female–accused the cashier of being racist and hateful although the cashier also calls for price checks often when it’s a white person.
So I can’t help but wonder about “hate crime.” By whose definition? Such as the female customer I refer to?
I’d love to hear from you, whether you’re black or Jewish or from any other culture. In your mind what constitues a hate crime? And have you ever officially filed charges?
But no matter which group we all must speak up and stop the hate. As Depeche Mode sings “people are people.”
